Time for another fun musical foray!
Today, featuring this beautiful song by Adele which just seems to beg for a number of good parodies.
First, of course, the original.
Hello - by Adele
I love the vocals and the way the sounds play together. The video works very well, though does speak of someone who refuses to let go of her past.
Today, I didn't include any covers, but I am starting with parodies where they mostly adhered to the original video - this always impresses me, but only if the vocals and/or lyrics are well done.
My first choice today has changed the setting, but still does an excellent job.
Snow - by Mary Morris
This one is impressive in its originality, but still mimicking the original video in many aspects. Mary Morris has a good voice as well. Totally worth a visit.
I looked at other mothering parodies, but wasn't blown away like I was with this one. Emily Mills' vocals are excellent!
Hello From the MotherSide
Holy smokes the vocals! A good parody, very well thought out lyrics which fit the tune nicely.
I came across this really well done response to Adele - and all people like her who find they have great difficulty of letting go...
Response from Guy to Adele - from Nyloc Rex
Sure, it's sad when people break up, but hanging on prevents healing.
I watched a number of parodies from the Star Wars universe, but this was the only one I could watch to the end. I love it because it keeps fairly true to the original video and shows the type of regrets that Darth Vader might have had.
Hello I'm Tired of the Dark Side - by Randy Turnbow
Regrets really are part of the story of the original song, so I think this Dark Side parody really works.
In today's "WTF did I just watch" category...
Hello, Game of Thrones Parody by Perfectly Serious
Okay, the song style is totally different, but all in all, they've done a great job tying this song to Game of Thrones! I kept laughing as I watched it because of how ridiculously true many of the lines are - if you've followed Game of Thrones at all, you know how true this song is!
Today's Bonus selection.
This may not be your cup of tea, but it's hard to fault the quality of this parody.
Adele - Hello (Mormon Missionary Parody) by Joseph & Smith
The lyrics do a good job of keeping true to the melody and the vocal quality is quite good too.
Even if you aren't a fan of Mormons, hopefuly, you can appreciate the perspective given here and can feel for the guys - including some relief when they're finally welcomed in.
(Trivia point - the missionaries aren't allowed to mow lawns - I guess it's too much a health and safety risk - but they are happy to help in other ways.)
