Supernatural Parodies, Part 1 - A Thematic Musical Foray

With Halloween coming up, I thought it would be fun to do something with a slightly spooky theme. Unfortunately, just plugging "Halloween Parody" into YouTube came up with lots of weird things that went totally beyond what I wanted to share with you.

So, I settled on Supernatural, the popular TV show which I've only been watching for the past year, but am nearly caught up on now. Anyway, it was an instant hit with me, especially when it isn't quite so gory.

I actually have enough parody fodder for two separate posts - just perfect in the lead-up to Halloween. Today's finale takes me back to one of the songs that caused me to start this series in the first place.

Okay, I'm more of a Sammy fan than a Dean fan, but this parody would've been a decent choice when I featured the original song.

All About that Bass (Dean) by DanaMarieSings

I've come across this singer before. She may not have the glitz and glamour, but she definitely has the voice and clever lyrics. She combines her own video with clips from the show. I think she does a good job with it.

Here's a nice one with fairly simple accompaniment.

Supernatural E.T. Parody presented by heykelly

Her very folksy voice works well with the guitar and her lyrics just work. Clips of the show go in the video okay. It's worth a watch.

Angels of the Lord | Warriors SPN Parody presented by Jessye Jennings

Good voice with a canned accompaniment works very well in this song/video. The lyrics are good, and are included on the video.

We Are Never Ever Ever Saving Adam Ever presented by fansonglyrics

What they lack in vocal quality, they more than make up for in exuberance and presence. The song works very well with their voices. Not a super video, but definitely a well-written set of lyrics and with the catchy tune, it just works.

Poor Unfortunate Souls presented by The Bravest Tako

I LOVE this one. The lyrics are excellent, the voice works perfectly with the song. Awesome choice of song to use, definitely worth making part of your Halloween list.
