Demons - A Musical Foray

Here's another song I discovered through parody (it's actually amazing how often this happens - for those who are hesitant to like parody, this is something good it does!)

It's easy to maybe over-react to the title of this piece, but just like the song "Zombie", this song has nothing to do with the supernatural and everything to do with what's inside you. As such, I present:

Demons - by Imagine Dragons

If you've never given this a listen, take a moment to listen now. It's a very touching, tear-jerking song about real people and their daily struggles, their inner demons. The song itself is dedicated to a young cancer victim.

Finding good covers of this song was easy today. Here is one of my favorites.

Demons - presented by Sam Tsui, Max and Kurt Hugo Schneider

Starting off, I was very impressed with the piano accompaniment of this piece. Then these two lovely young men open their mouths and do an awesome job covering this song.

Here's a fun cover - watch how they handle their instruments!

Demons - presented by Roomie Official

The vocals are very good. I enjoy the instrumental parts, but what's with this hanger being used as a bow on guitars?! Maybe it's a reaction to people strumming their violins... It's a bit strange, but it's very good all the same.

Unusually, I now feature a medley, done a capella, which always impresses me more when it's well done.

Imagine Dragons medley - presented by Jared Halley

I'm very much impressed with his vocals as well as the little bits of percussion. (I especially love some of the dancing he does in one of the frames. So fun!) "Demons" starts at 2:00 or so.

On To the Parodies...

And today's WTF feature

Or the closest I can come to it today.

I Am Lord Voldemort - presented by The Deluminators

The vocals are a bit weak, but I enjoyed the attention paid to creating decent lyrics and an appropriate video to go with it. I didn't see anything truly crazy today, but this one was definitely the closest to the WTF criteria.

There are lots of Minecraft parodies out there. Most of them aren't particularly amazing, but this one is a very good one.

Where My Diamonds Hide - presented by MineworksAnimations MWA

(I think this is the original. If you know better, please let me know!)
Anyway, I was impressed with the vocals on this one. A great video with good lyrics as well. It's worth a listen.

Finally, the parody/medley that alerted me to the existence of this song to begin with. (I have featured it before and it will likely be featured again as I think it's that good for a parody/medley.)

Game of Thrones Medley - presented by The Warp Zone

"The Iron Throne is Mine" begins at 3:26 on this medley, but the whole thing is very good and the transition into this final segment is excellently done. If you're a GoT fan, this really is required viewing!

That's it for today! I hope you had as much fun as I did!

As usual, I'm simply sharing YouTube videos on a theme, all rights remain with the original.
