One Thing - A Musical Foray

Another day, another song - and more fun. I've never followed the whole boy band trend, so it was an interesting foray for me.

First up... the Original

One Thing - by One Direction

These guys feel very young and the song wasn't all that great of a write, to be honest. "thing" doesn't rhyme with "is" for one thing - and the song feels like it wants to.

There were a surprisingly large number of covers out there - done by people in different countries and by boys as young as 9 (that one just felt wrong!!!) Heres the cover I chose...

One Thing - presented by Cimorelli

These ladies are a lot of fun, are vocally good and I love some of the actions - such as the one girl "fainting" on the "can't breathe" line. Good job, ladies!

On to the parodies

Krispy Kreme - presented by Brian Wetherholt

These guys are really funny. They do a good job emulating the original video, but changing it appropriately - even if the lyrics don't always want to match the music.

One Ring - presented by The Warp Zone

I guess this was an obvious thing - they've done a great job with it though! The costumes are fun, vocals great and the lyrics just work.

Today's WTF selection!

My Little Pony - presented by 5th Place Losers

I've heard of this who "bronie" thing (and it's usually not in a good light...) Sometimes, the lyrics feel a little forced here, but despite that, this parody is cute and catchy - maybe there are good bronies out there.

Grand Finale!

One Thing - presented by Key of Awesome

This was definitely my favorite parody today. They do a fantastic job mimicking the original, but then go off in their own unique direction - thinking some of the things we're all thinking about as we watched the original! Fabulous!

That's it for today! I hope you had as much fun as I did!

As usual, I'm simply sharing YouTube videos on a theme, all rights remain with the original.
