Pachebel's Canon in D - A Musical Foray

Something a little different today... motivated by my finalé again.
It's hard to give the "original" in this case, but I will showcase this piece done by different instruments and sometimes different styles. (I personally like to play it on piano.)

Canon in D by Pachebel - presented by Vetta Quartet

These guys do a fantastic job of showing us how the piece is meant to sound with a string quartet. Beautiful!

But what else can we find?

Boys Soprano Choir Pachelbel - shared by Angel Steven

This version by boys soprano choir is just amazing! I suppose this is technically a parody, but it's just so beautiful!

Pachelbel Canon in D Fantasia for hammered dulcimer - presented by Timothy Seaman

Here's the one that blew me away today - how can just two hands perform this piece so perfectly on hammered dulcimer?!

Canon in D on glass harp - presented by roberttiso

Another blow-away moment! The "glass harp" - despite the backing track, it's just amazing!

Now for some funnier versions...

Pagagnini - Pachelbel's Canon in D - shared by Alan Mortensen

If, like me, this is the first time you've listened to these guys, you're in for a real treat! Technically excellent, I can guarantee you've never listened to this piece like this!

Today's WTF selection...

Pachebel's Chicken - presented by TwoSetViolin

Another technically excellent presentation, but unlike anything you've ever heard - or are likely to want to hear again! I couldn't help laugh in many parts, but again, the execution is pretty much perfect.

Today's Finalé

Rockelbel's Canon (Pachelbel's Canon in D) - 4 Cellos - by The Piano Guys

I love these guys anyway, but what better/worse disaster than falling asleep in the middle of the piece - especially when performing at a wedding?! Gotta save it somehow - and this one is thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. That's why it's my finalé today. (Apologies for the cricket...)

That's it for today! I hope you had as much fun as I did!

As usual, I'm simply sharing YouTube videos on a theme, all rights remain with the original.
