Snow Valley!!

On highway 18 just above the little town of Arrowbear Lake on the northwestern slopes of Slide peak is the Snow Valley Mountain Resort. Snow Valley was first developed for skiing in the 1930's which makes it the oldest continually operating ski resort in Southern California! It's one of three ski resorts in the San Bernardino mountains. The other two being the Big Bear Mountain Resorts in Big Bear, Ca. Although Snow Valley is the smaller resort, the convenience of the shorter drive from the city keeps it quite a popular destination. When we get some snow here in SoCal Snow Valley is a great place to go. I've skied there many times over the years, in fact it's where I first learned to ski over 20 years ago!!

Now with this winter beginning I'm hoping for snow, snow, and more snow! We've gotten just enough to get the season started and the resorts have been able to make some snow, but we need more... a lot more!! I'd really like to get to do a bunch of snowboarding this winter!!
