Not content with the £25 version (bought on amazon) I saw how easily this could be done and quickly set about creating my own versions. As you can see, version 3 is about as cheap as it gets now. Affordable for anyone!
I've not done any work to V3 yet, but I will...
...because I really have gone sprouting mad!

V1 & V2
This is version 1 & 2 side by side, watching each other suspiciously.

The broccoli in the bottom layer of V2 came out so much better than I was expecting, despite not having a drainage level as you can see in V1.

Tell me that doesn't look amazing! Three days was all it took.
And guess what, it tasted superb.
Mixed up in a big salad with lots of other stuff.

I just need more more more....

The blue spray bottle visible in this shot has been essential for keeping each layer humid without disrupting things too much.
Why am I obsessed with eating this way?
Well, in a nutshell because there is a sustained period of extreme weather ahead of us (a natural cycle the Earth has been through many times) and it's going to affect mainstream agriculture first. This means food prices are going to rise quickly over the next few years. You may have noticed this already? The news that very few mid US farmers were able to plant this year is already having an effect on prices. Despite the USDA trying to cover this up as long as possible.
The wisdom of @iceagefarmer
So, food will soon be an expensive commodity and I am not planning on being one of those people who is not prepared. I am in the UK for the Summer with nothing but a windowsill, while Sabrina in France is learning the land as intended, the hard way.
Things are not growing as successfully as we had hoped but now is the time to make these mistakes and learn from them.

Sprouting rules!
Sprouting seeds is so simple, fast and effective, nutritionally speaking.
And you don't even need a home!
Just some plastic tubs.
Or glass jars.
Or whatever you can find which keeps in the humidity in, while permitting a little air flow.
They don't even really need the light. You could sprout them in total darkness, but I would imagine them to have better nutritional value if they have collected up a little bit of sun energy for you.

The key for me is this...
Make the mistakes now so that we won't be making them when it really matters ;)
Love & Light everyone 🙏🏻
