Reminiscing @ecoDesign's 2018 Achievements

ecoDesigns is a textile recycling and fashion designing hub of @thegreens that is training young girls for free in textile recycling and fashion designing. The major green achievements of @ecodesigns in 2018 are;
03 TRAINING DIRECTORS in Embroidery, Fashion Designing and Overlocking who mentor the trainees for free
13 Female Trainees learning textile recycling and fashion designing for FREE

UPCYCLED 1000Pounds of Textile Waste into ecoDesigned Products such as Garments, Pillows, Chalkboard Erasers, Dolls, ecoSanitary Pads, Fabric, etc.

Organized an ecoFashion Show attended by 176 persons and sensitized more than 5000 people to #StopTextilePollution

Donated over 300 Clothes Orphans, IDPs and needy persons
Had over 30 weekly meetings during which trainees capacities were built in domains such as leadership, management, environment etc.

Trained trainees of @ecodesigns in the production of ecoDetergents for Laundry

Raised over $1300 via @steem, @fundition and @adollaraday to purchase 7 machines.

Produced 13 video documentaries of our trainees and acquired 03 Solar Lamps with a 60SBD Loan from @solarcoach and @chrisaiki

EcoDesigns is a textile recycling and fashion designing hub of The Greens (@thegreens) that trains young girls for FREE in Textile Recycling and Fashion Designing in a bid to reduce female unemployment, inequalities and poverty, promote female entrepreneurship, improve the health and wellbeing of orphans, prisoners and poor people via the donation of free clothes, as well as combat textile waste pollution and climate change.
It’s a branch of The Greens’ Waste Business Hub, a startup incubator that is training young and underprivileged youths to exploit the business opportunities available in the domain of waste, hence nurture a generation of Waste Business Entrepreneurs (Wastepreneurs). Waste Business Hub is currently educating and empowering youths in the recycling of tires, textile and plastic wastes.
EcoDesigns currently has 03 Training Directors and 13 female trainees who are learning fashion designing, embroidery and overlocking as well as how to transform textile trash into textile treasure.
Every week, the hub upcycles 50 pounds of textile waste in a bid to curb textile waste pollution and Climate Change.
