A 16 year old teenager from Cincinnati, Kyle Plush, recently lost his life after he got caught in the backseat of his vehicle after it turned over on him.

The student had placed a call to 911 after he had gone to the back of his car, to allegedly reach for some tennis equipment. At one point, the seat ended-up flipping on him and he became stuck, unable to free himself.

Calling for help...

He placed two calls to the 911 emergency line and waited for authorities to show up to the school parking lot to help him.

On the first call it sounds like the operator had a difficult time hearing him, asking him to confirm what parking lot he was in, before his phone disconnected. They tried to call back but got the voicemail. Plush had also told the agent that he couldn't hear her very well either, but he kept crying out for help. Reports show that an officer arrived at least 10 minutes after the first call was placed.

As they were busy searching, he called 911 again for help.

He had told them the color of his vehicle, the make, model, even described what car park he was supposed to be in.

After waiting awhile, Plush had told the operator that he didn't think he had much time left and asked that they tell his mother that he loved her if he did lose his life.

He stressed to the operator that he wasn't making a prank call, and begged for them to send help immediately.

According to one police chief, the officers that showed up to search had never been given the details of the vehicle to look for.

An internal investigation is now taking place...

Bodycam footage showed that the officers who showed up on scene neglected to get out of their vehicle and conduct a more thorough search, to look for the teen.

It allegedly shows that they drove around the car park for several minutes and eventually claimed that they didn't see any sight of him.

If he had placed those two phone calls to friends and family instead of to the emergency line that he did call, one wonders if he would have seen the same outcome from the incident. Perhaps if he would have called friends and family, they might have taken the time and effort to conduct a more thorough search of the area.

His father was the one who ended-up finding Plush, after the police failed.

He ended-up being located 6 hours after he placed that first call to 911.

Now city council members insist that they're working on fixing the problem by upgrading their 911 system with whatever tools are necessary.

They say that they're dedicated to hiring more people, and improving their services, as a means to try and stop similar situations from occurring in the future.

But was it the fault of the 911 operator? Or was there fault on the part of the officers who from what it looks like failed to get out of their vehicle to look around? From the camera footage, it also looks like one of the officers had music playing in his car as he was trying to search the area.

The city has responded in saying that they'll be looking to hire additional help for their emergency center needs. However, on the day that Plush lost his life, the emergency center was said to be fully staffed that day.

The 911 emergency center had received his calls, they received the information about his vehicle, and officers were sent to the region and they were searching. It's a shame that they couldn't find him to help him, despite all of that information that they were given.

The dispatcher who allegedly had taken the first call was able to use GPS coordinates of the phone and apparently had sent that information to the officers who were sent to the parking lot to search. When that GPS info was entered later on into a Google map, reporters found that the location was only feet away from where Plush was eventually found. Yet, police were still unable to save him.
