Talk about just in time. How did Johns Hopkins do it? Even before the Event 201 they held the very next month, and just before the pandemic began felling unsuspecting citizens of China's Golden Age, the Prophets of Pandemic Prediction release this report.

You can get it here. Fortunately it's in PDF format so you can download it, keep it, and cherish it forever.

In the 'Summary of Conclusions', last but not least, is this little gem:

"Data will be essential to motivate political leaders and measure progress."

Sad that during Event 201 it appears they decided that factual data was actually a worse problem than any pandemic pathogen. Today, between being belabored about masks not working, but doctors need them, so quit buying them all, and hearing 'it's just the flu, bro.' from our overlords, data seems to have been the first casualty of this pandemic.

Edit: I thought I'd add this Reddit article about life in Shanghai today.
