As you might know, today is Chinese Sylvester. Which means: The year of the dog (2018), is coming to an end and the year of the pig (2019) is starting.
Before I met my better half, who is Chinese, I knew about the Chinese calendar, but I didn't necessarily celebrate it. However, today as well as the last 2 years, we're going to a Buddhist temple to celebrate the beginning of the Chinese 2019.
While I did celebrate the western new year of 2019 already, somehow, the Chinese celebration feels a bit more special to me, as I find the backstory and the celebration-style more fitting for my personal believe system. I actually cleaned the whole house today, to make sure everything is prepared.
So with that said: I wish each of you a very happy and healthy year of the pig, and I have faith in it's power to bring us prosperity and wealth over the coming 12 months.
新年快乐!
(Happy New Year!)
