17 year old Gabriel from Kristiansand, Norway is one of a very few select people in Norway who has acquired the new TenX debit card. Earlier this week he received his new card and went straight to the Pizzeria in Vågsbygd, Kristiansand to test it, E24.no reports.
The reason why he has gotten his hands on this card is because he landed a summer job with the Singaporean company TenX, and he is the first person to be hired outside of Singapore.
The card, which is connected to an app, works just like a debit-card which you can "charge" with crypto currencies. TenX are planning to make the card compatible with 11 different crypto currencies. TenX converts immediately the virtual currency to fiat-currency for the shop-owner (who most likely have no idea what crypto currencies are..yet)
According to Bloomberg, 10,000 cards are being ordered around the world.
I sort of like how the mainstream media are beginning to report on crypto currencies without mentioning schemes, pyramides, black market and criminality. It's also a bit scary, because it supports the "bubble" theories and tendencies. But like I've said before, and I still stand by it - there will be small and big bubbles in the crypto currency market. Each time there is a bubble, small or big, weak hands will be washed out giving room for stronger hands. And the weak hands will buy in again, realizing their error, and the next time there is a bubble THEY will have a stronger hand.
