This image came to life during a 5-Day Tempera Grassa workshop with Philip Rubinov Jacobson and Mantra Cora in the Summer of 2017.
Philip is a disciple of Ernst Fuchs, the renowned artist and founder of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. It feels like quite a blessing to get connected with the whole lineage, learning the techniques of the old masters. It was my first experience of studying with them, and so far ever since I've attended to two of their other workshops, and they definitely expanded my painting skills.

This piece is not completely finished and I am looking forward to complete it when the timing is right. We were exploring a technique where we were starting an artwork with a pencil, then applying a layer of a cremnitz white with a liquin medium. Next we were working with the shadow and light, then the layers of colors, and learning of how to make our own egg tempera.
