I haven't posted for a few days.
I've actually been working on my latest Singularity piece. I would have shared some of that today, but after a break last night I started messing about with this. As it was the last sketch I shared I figured I'd show it with more colour today.
This might become more of a finished piece
though I like it in it's current iteration as well. If I decided to do more I'd probably ink it, remove the sketch layers and then tweak some more colour here and there. Possibly frame it someway that might make it more appealing on things, if I decide to use it.
Sometimes one off studies in my journal become larger pieces.
I definitely do things with intent, but often find things from just sketching for fun and then following that fun path or train of thought. I did an older sketch of a mermaid having tea once, when I was doing a series of "tea and coffee" which was mainly animal based, but I really liked the mermaid.
She is actually pretty popular on things.
My friend even got a duvet and curtains with the image on it, she liked it so much.
You can see were I to treat this current sketch in this manner, I'd ink a good outline and maybe add a bit more graphic shapes and splash like I did to the water splash in this one.
It's interesting how looking at your previous work will sometimes inspire you
After looking back on this one, whilst doing my current mermaid, had me wanting to do one more and making a triptych. If I do so, I'll probably also offer it in triptych form in one print as well, so someone could simply get a single piece with the three of them on it...if there is to be a third one.
Taking mini breaks from social media always recharges me.
I have to laugh when I sometimes watch videos or read articles about how hard it is for people to 'unplug'. Now, Of course, I could say it'd be easy for me as I am sitting here typing away online, but I know, from my little few day breaks, that I could happily unplug and never even think about it that much.
If I were in a position to not NEED the internet I'm not sure that I'd use it.
If my own life could be sustained without it I think an uplugged life might not be that bad. I have enough interests to occupy my time, between gardening, drawing, reading and just walking I feel is a Lifetime's worth of activity.
Alas, I must stay plugged in. And I'm thankful for Steemit.
It has made the realization of needing to be online and social media so much more bearable.
- Have any of you ever thought what life would be unplugged?
- Do you think you would like it or would it seem to isolationg?
- Are you online for work or Joy/entertainment or both?
Well, I'll close on that note.
I've got to catch up with all of you after my mini break.
