[CR] Looking for Adventures in Chickens Robots

ntopaz-image-0Hello everyone! I hope you all are okay.

I continue with my bad habit of chewing more than I can bite hehe. This illustration was supposed to be my first entry to the science fiction contest sponsored by nTOPAZ. WHICH ENDED SIX DAYS !!! In my defense and due to my problem of not having internet, I found out about this contest when it was a week before it was finished; Science fiction is one of my favorite subjects, that's why I wanted to do a great job to participate, I wanted my illustration to be positive and show the adventure of moving forward with the help of technology, (I am one of those who see the future with optimism, I do not believe in apocalyptic futures)

I wanted to make a composition with several characters, elements and a landscape, and with my experience I calculated that it would take me about 3 days, but I did not count on external factors, which took away as much time as possible, work, family favors and duties, all made equipment to keep me busy without being able to draw, in conclusion I went through a crazy week.

get annoyed as they have no idea that I could not participate, I really like what I get with this job and it improves a lot with the natural backgrounds, and finally I learned to draw clouds well yay !!! I must not trust myself! I still have a lot to learn and improve.

The designs made in pencil

I have the habit that when I'm going to create a character, I like to know how it looks in all its dress or how are all its parts although they are not visible in the final work, so I always make several sketches before the final sketch

Sketches more defined in pencil

Boceto Definido 1.JPG

Already knowing what I wanted in my illustration, I decided to make all the characters separately to work better in the details

Boceto Definido 2.JPG

What I wanted as a main element were two-legged robotic vehicles that were understood to be very advanced terrain machines, that looked like they were taken from a video game, when I finiquite the design of these, notice how much they looked like a chicken, I was very funny . LOL wanted to make a cool robot and end up making a robot hen without wanting to.

Boceto Definido 3.JPG

This boy with a friendly face, was a character that came to mind when I designed the robot hen, since that design was not included in my original idea, I just needed to know what profile theft was so I could do it in another one. angle, but I decided to include it in the composition and to do this I made this boy who is carrying a backpack to place it on the hook located behind the chicken, what looks like an armor in his arms is not, they are exoskeletons strength to move heavy objects very easily.

Boceto Definido 4.JPG

This girl mounted on the robot hen, was my original idea, it was supposed that this illustration would not be so complicated, it would only be an attractive girl mounted on this machine, but as I decided to include a second hen (luckily I did it since the first hen helped me to correct many errors of proportion that tube is with his legs, head and the steering wheel)

Boceto Definido 5.JPG

I also chose to include this fifth character, which would come as a kind of robot dog, which would have the function of being a terrestrial drone species for exploration and help carry more luggage, I would be inspired by the BostonDynamics model that is in current development in the US Army, of which there are several videos on YouTube

Boceto Definido 6.JPG

As I wanted to highlight more science fiction, I decided to include some huge spaceships skimming the skies, these could not have many details since the idea of these is that they were too high to be lost with the colors of the sky, highlighting its enormous size ( they are very tall and still look great) are not aircraft are real spaceships in the stratosphere

Boceto del Fondo.jpg

In this sketch for the background would be a natural scenario as in a forest, which would be made up of three planes, of which the first plane would be the only detailed and the others I made only by simple lines and its details would make it digitally greater freedom.

Final composition of the Sketches

Bocetos Fianl.jpg

As I mentioned earlier I would cut all the sketches in Photoshop to put together the composition which I would make in Illustrator. The idea changed a lot through the designs of the sketches, the final idea would be this, a pair of adventurous couple hiking, exploring and looking for some fun adventure.

I wanted to show that no matter how much progress this world is always in change and no matter how much we have explored, there will always be something new to discover, these guys in their machines are exploring some technological ruins, as there are machines buried and covered by nature reflecting How much time has passed there.

Curiosity is something that has made us advance a lot, and will continue to do so, taking us to discover surprising wonders, as this girl points out, to that huge floating bucket with energy rays, why is it there, what is its fusion and why does it do that?

There is only one way to discover it, venturing to remote places, to new undiscovered lands and new worlds.
