For the past weeks I've been working in these series of Laughing Buddha illustrations for apparels, they've kept me very busy but it has been very fun to create them. In this fourth chapter I show you our funny buddhist monk character walking his dog πΆ, I wanted the dog to be small making it fun contrast between the fat monk with a tiny dog, but also wanted to make the pet extra cute so I made it shiba inu π, let me know what you think in the comments π.
On a side note, is very common that people mistakes the laughing Buddha for "The Buddha" whose real name was SiddhΔrtha Gautama, well actually they're two entirely different guys.
The Laughing Buddha or Budai as know in China was a buddhist monk from the 10th century who apparently had this carefree vagabond and peaceful lifestyle which is exemplified in it's most iconic figure of a fat man smiling.
