Hi friends!
I've seen @yoganarchista's Nude Drawing Contest going on for a while, but couldn't find any time to create an entry artwork from scratch. Wanting to show my support still I decided to join the contest with one of my old pieces. This perhaps isn't nude in a traditional sense of the word, but in Shiny Forest terms yes, it is ;)
Pen and ink on paper, 29,7 x 21 cm
Ok, so this is the state in which I found this art in my old sketchbook:
I decided to finish it. I filled the blanks with some black shapes and got rid of the pencil marks. I'm glad I've revisited this work, because all these years (since 2013 I guess) I was going through the sketchbook many times now and then, always seeing it unfinished and never having time or will to actually do something about it, while really liking the concept of it.
This art became a drawing from something that originally was a pencil sketch I did for drawing school classes. There was a whole series of them, and this was my favourite because of the interesting pose the model was in. This is also the work where the strong influence of my linocutting experience is visible. Let's just say I was never the same after I was introduced to the world of linocuts back in 2007 (to my greatest delight :)) I just love black and white and high contrast.
