The first time I sang at a public event as a soloist, I was 12 years old. That was in 1972 in the city of Erfurt, Germany.
I have told on several occasions, especially in my posts with the #mymusic tag, that my youth was marked by the music of South America and especially by the music of the Andean highlands.
The song that I sang on that occasion in Germany is a northern Marinera, a rhythm, a dance music from Peru. It was composed by Miguel Paz and is entitled "Huaquero".
Today I have the pleasure of bringing it back, after almost 47 years, as my entry for the Steemit Open Mic, Week 125.

La primera vez que canté en un evento público como solista, yo tenía 12 años de edad. Eso fue en 1972 en la ciudad de Erfurt, Alemania.
Yo he contado en varias ocasiones, sobre todo en mis publicaciones con la etiqueta #mymusic, que mi juventud estuvo marcada por la música de América del Sur y muy especialmente por la música del altiplano andino.
La canción que canté en esa ocasión es una Marinera norteña, un ritmo, una música bailable del Perú. La misma fue compuesta por Miguel Paz y lleva por título "Huaquero".
Hoy tengo el gusto de traerla nuevamente, luego de casi 47 años, como mi participación en el concurso Steemit Open Mic, en su semana 125.
