One thing people seem to forget or underestimate in a public and open-source project such as Steem is that co-operation can be amazing and the results amazing squared since everyone is in it for the same long term goals and everything profits similarly. As everything happens on one network and things can move around rather quickly given the right incentives - as we've seen what happened to DrugWars recently as it made its way to 4k daily users, double the amount of the other steem game dapp - things move very quick on here. This isn't just to market our platform and activity to outside investors and dapp developers wondering which the right project to start on is, but it also changes a lot of other things.
Flexibility is great on a blockchain and should be a more important aspect for more of them. One thing I like about the DPOS system is that witnesses can be replaced instantly, heck someone could probably even create some sort of kill-switch that changes all witnesses around if anything fishy seems to be happening or looming in the horizon, I'm sure we haven't thought through all the things that can still be developed and evolved in that aspect. I am not going to talk about that part though but mostly about communication. I've seen Steemit inc improve the communication with its community quite a lot lately and that's great cause it will allow the community to help them if there is anything while at the same time helping themselves. This is true for most of the action that happens on the network, if someone does something good for it everyone gains from it at some point, if you are vested that is.
Last night for instance I noticed a tweet for a tipbot and just asked if they could possibly add Steem to it and this is the response I got:

I'm not trying to brag, it really didn't take me long to do and its something anyone could do. It proves my point though that activity can be exponential in this day and age. Remember that this technology is still in its baby phase, a lot of people, projects and money is coming in now and looking for the right chain for their own project or start in their entrepreneurship. Every action counts.
Here is a link to ParJar the tipbot if you want to get used to it while they're adding Steem (haven't had the chance to test it myself yet)
To get back to the point of this post, being direct is important here.
There seem to be some users that think there is time to beat around the bush, or that trolls need to be endured and answered to politely to keep up a "professional" stance. Yeah how about no? Trolls are cancer most of the time that will just waste the time of everyone involved, the only way to get rid of them is to ignore them and hit the mute button. What this blockchain needs and many projects involved are to be direct and improve from there.
The same way that dapps are evolving, competing and undercutting and evolving from one another, the same way its users have to. There is no time to waste and no feelings to hurt. I don't wanna go all bot on you, but it is something I've learned the hard way. Results are everything. This is decentralization, people aren't going to care if someone stole your idea or stole your upvotes or stole your witness position. Be direct, bring proof and execute.
Being direct is a little bit like avoiding white lies in my opinion, if someone gets offended by your views and opinions, that's fine. That's where you split and go another direction, there are billions of other people out there, no point in trying to mend relationships like a clingy ex. If people want to be complete trolls that also means you can be direct and tell them to fuck off. If other viewers don't agree with your methods, that's fine, they can mute and move on.
Everything grows, everything gets filtered, everything improves.
That's open-source nature, decentralization and the new internet.
Get used to it and stop wasting time. Stop trying to ride on others soldiers, stop trying to just take from the platform short term cause it will bite you in the ass long term.
