I just finished watching "Crazy Rich Asians", and the title of this post is a line from that movie. The photo is mine captured last December during a photography workshop.
Integrity is so rare. People nowadays don't even see it as something admirable. You can just go around stealing and lying and yet people would still trust you to hold a public office. And its not unusual anymore, it happens so often that it becomes so ordinary. Integrity don't matter anymore.
Money becomes the standard of everything. It doesn't matter what you did, you can mess around, and people would still worship you. No matter what you do, its totally fine because your money can save your ass anyway. You can pay the the lawyers, the judge, the police officers, or even the victims. Money can shut people's mouth and make them blind.
But its not these rich people's fault that our world is governed by those who owns so much wealth.. its our fault because we don't have intergrity. We are scared to be uncomfortable. We are so scared to become so poor. We are so scared that we choose not to do or say anything.
I hope someday growing some balls becomes a thing as well.
