No post de hoje irei falar sobre uma nova funcionalidade que foi disponibilizada pela Uber para seus usuários (e motoristas).
Ela se chama (ao menos para nós motoristas) Valor Extra. Eu recebi um comunicado da Uber (vide telas abaixo) no dia 24/09/2018

Como podem ver, inicialmente a informacao que foi passada a nós motoristas pela Uber foi muito genérica e vaga. Apenas mencionaram um valor extra livre da taxa da Uber.
Eu nao entendi muito bem do que se tratava isso na hora que li essa mensagem (mesmo porque estava trabalhando nessa noite) e depois esqueci que havia lido essa mensagem.
Mas... qual foi a minha surpresa no dia de ontem (27/09/2018)? Estava dirigindo no período da tarde (coisa que é muito rara de acontecer) e estava estacionado em um posto de gasolina aguardando uma solicitacao de viagem, quando recebi uma notificacao de mensagem no app. Entrei para ver do que se tratava e.... bingo!
Esse tal ganho extra que eles mencionam se trata de uma gorjeta que o passageiro pode dar ao motorista como reconhecimento de um bom servico prestado.
Creio que essa funcionalidade esteja disponível apenas para os passageiros que pagam diretamente dentro do app (via cartao de crédito ou débito).
Pois bem... ontem eu recebi a minha primeira gorjeta. Nao foi uma quantia substancial em termos nominais, mas proporcionalmente ao valor da viagem foi sim.

Como podem ver nos detalhes da viagem a mesma foi bem curta (tanto em tempo como em distancia) e eu acabei recebendo uma gorjeta de R$ 2.00 (o que representa 43.85% do valor da viagem que teria sido pago antes dessa funcionalidade estar em vigor).
Achei muito legal isso tanto da Uber como da parte da passageira. E aconselho a todos os passageiros darem uma gorjeta para o motorista, pois nosso trabalho é bem difícil (estamos sujeitos a diversos riscos e perigos) e, na maioria das vezes acaba nao sendo reconhecido. Outro ponto é que muitos motoristas (como eu) sao pais de familia e tem custos de manutencao muito altos (como no meu que tenho que pagar o aluguel do veículo e a pensao alimentícia de meu filho).
Bem.... acho que por esse post é só isso mesmo.

In today's post I will talk about a new feature that was made available by Uber to its users (and drivers).
It's called (at least for us drivers) Extra Value. I received a Uber statement (see screenshots below) on 09/24/2018

As you can see, initially the information that was passed to us drivers by Uber was very generic and vague. They only mentioned an extra value free of Uber's fee.
I did not quite understand what this was about the time I read this message (even though I was working on it that night) and then forgot that I had read that message.
But ... what was my surprise yesterday (09/27/2018)? I was driving in the afternoon (which is very rare to happen) and was parked at a gas station waiting for a travel request when I received a message notification in the app. I went in to see what it was and .... bingo!
That extra gain they mention is a tip that the passenger can give the driver as recognition of a good service rendered.
I believe this feature is only available to passengers who pay directly into the app (via credit or debit card).
Well ... yesterday I got my first tip. It was not a substantial amount in nominal terms, but in proportion to the value of the trip it was.

As you can see in the details of the trip it was very short (both in time and distance) and I ended up receiving a tip of $ 2.00 (which represents 43.85% of the trip's amount that would have been paid before this functionality was in effect ).
I found it very cool, both from Uber, and from the passenger side. And I advise all the passengers to give a tip to the driver, because our work is very difficult (we are subject to various risks and dangers) and most of the time end up not being recognized. Another point is that many drivers (like me) are parents and have very high maintenance costs (as in mine that I have to pay the rent of the vehicle and my son's alimony).
