Not sharing Steemit whale status - this is a collection of open-source whale images :)
I collected some images of whales for a piece of art I am working on this morning and thought I would share them. Everything here is from the Wiki Commons- Whale category . There are many more gems there, of course; I highly recommend browsing Wiki Commons for your post picture needs of any variety. Click the link below each image for the full res version. I am including the license/attribution info here so please remember proper attribution if you use these images!

I love this whale! Simple but great style along the whale's underside and tail with a wise old eye that gazes into your soul.

This piece is absolutely screaming for Steemit use! Just change the colors on the little guys running around and put your own graphic or whatever in the flags... this whale is ripe for the picking.

This illustration has some nice simple outlines of different whale types. The image needs to be cleaned up a little but could be a great starting place for a blog post on seven different types of Steemit Whales, fer instance. If I get around to cleaning these up in Photoshop and turning them into smooth black outlines I will post here.

This one is kind of darker but might be a good illo for a flag war type scenario, or a whale nuking a minnow or something.

What can you say about this?!? This whale has rays of light beaming out of its eyes. This is pure badassery.

This is just a really nice clean whale outline that you could use as an element in all kinds of Steemit graphics - easy to add your own color and details. Thanks Peter!

Even though this is not high res I still think it is a great photo for Steemit.

This is a classic picture of an iconic image - the whale tail raised out of the water. Bon appetit.

I should note that the photographer, Aqqa Rosing-Asvid, has left a great piece of advice next to her name in Wiki Commons - "Visit Greenland"
I have never been but would love to visit Greenland. Sounds like solid advice. I also think Aqqa has really managed to capture the crazy size of the whale here. Something about the angle really gives you that sense of scale. Also, of course we need some good images of whales spouting. Thanks Aqqa!

Really a spectacular image of a humpback whale breaching. Thanks Mario!
