Hello dear Hive Community, I hope you are all doing well and would like to welcome you to my new post! Today I would like to present you a new mineral and hope you find my contribution interesting and can learn something new.
Today I introduce you to a mineral that is called mica and can refer not to a specific mineral but to a group of minerals that contains more than 30 different species. The origin of the name is not known for sure, but it is assumed that it was first mentioned in 1546 by the mineralogenist Georgius Agricola. A typical characteristic is the glittering effect and is also flexible and elastic due to the composition. In addition, the mineral has a low hardness and is easy to split and the color is usually gray, white and less often green.
It is often used in the technology industry and is known for the property that it can conduct electricity. Minerals of this group are also used in the cosmetics industry to produce make-up or face powders. The technology industry often uses it as a component for the construction of engines or generators and it is also often used as a building material. It is also very heat-resistant and is therefore also used for the insulation of heaters and it is also used by the rubber industry as a propellant.
Mica can even be used in more ways and areas due to its properties and can be found pretty much anywhere in the world and the most popular mining areas include India, Africa and South America. As a healing stone, it is rather less known, but it can also be used here and for example, help against infections or fever and in general it can be said that it promotes intuition and the senses. As always, you should ask your doctor about the right medicine and application because minerals are conventional medicine!
Thank you for stopping by and hopefully you like my new post! I used my camera Sony Alpha 6000 and Sony SEL-55210 Telephoto Zoom Lens (55-210mm) to take these pictures.
