The weather had been so glorious that we decided to have a day at the beach. We visited a place called Hunstanton which has a great beach and some old school amusement arcades plus obviously fish and chips.
I was reminded of this day out when I read the @old-guy-photos blog about using the #oldtimers hashtag to support elder members of Steemit community. A place to share their memories and ideas with people who may actually share similar experiences that younger people may have no knowledge off.

In this way, we can maybe pass on some useful concepts and ideas. We can't all take a good selfie but we may know how to save a buck or two and avoid some of life's many pitfalls.

As we walked along the beachfront we came across a group of elder bikers who were having a rally and had their bikes on display. These bikes cost a fortune so not your average motorcycle.

What we didn't know was that our trip coincided with an armed forces day. We found a load of military vehicles and equipment on display for people to take a close up view. So we had a closer look.

The above is a personel carrier and it's used to transport troops. These vehicles will go just about anywhere in any terrain and conditions. Forget your 4x4 these things will eat them for lunch.
Below is a huge howitzer. This is a piece of heavy artillery that can lob a shell about 10 miles? It seemed odd to see this piece of war equipment on a lovely sunny beach. But I suppose it's exactly the place you would see it in a battle. Storming the beaches of France in WW2. As they say. Those who forget their history are bound to repeat it.

It was an amazing and surprising day all around and we came home a little bemused and amused in equal measures.

You never know what you will find when you step outside your front door. It was a memorable day for sure.
I hope you enjoyed this little day at the beach and if you like the idea spread the word with a resteem.
