We were blessed with beautiful sunny weather on Sunday, so I joined the regular student weekend group walk. This time we explored Öxnehaga – a lovely area east of Jönköping. Here are some pictures I took during the wak:
Wrapped in layers of warm winter clothes to keep the warmth in and the chill out!
We were a diverse group of students from France, Bolivia, the United States, China and one Swedish family (including the dog!).
The dog Aslan was especially happy about the opportunity to play in the snow!
A view at the starting point of our hike in Öxnehaga. Same lake as on the photo above, just from a different angle.
This was the type of the forest we had on both sides of our trails for most of the hike. Despite it being the middle of the day, the sun hang low over the horizon, as is typical for this time of year.
At some point we reached the top of the ski slope and could enjoy a stunning view of the entire Jönköping below us (the yellowish building in the very centre is the university).
If you need to traverse the snow very quickly, this is the type of vehicle you have to have!
And yet another view of the big lake.
After the walk we could enjoy hot coffee with waffles in a cozy café with a real fireplace.
