Spring season, as for many are their favourite season of the year and that includes me. Few more weeks to go!
Aside from the famous Sakura/cherry blossoms, Tulip festival is a must visit during this season.
I am sharing to you my family's 2016 spring Tulip festival experienced at Akatsuki Farm Imazaike, Izumo, Shimane Prefecture ( Shimane-ken is the second least populated in Japan, located in Chugoku region, western part of Honsho Island). We lived there for 10 months, a humble and kind community.
The vibrant colors of these flowers are really stunning!
There are white, pink, orange, purple and red tulips as well as mixed color tulips.
Almost all tulip farms in Japan have this wind mill (in Izumo it is just an imitation) to look like you are in a tulips field in Netherlands (Holland is visited for tulip farms).
You can also buy tulips in the farm either potted or bouquet.
This festival is celebrated every year and the farm is open to public for free, usually from the months of april to May (other areas of Japan from april-June).
There are also food stalls just beside the farm, you can grab a snack after walking around the farm.
These are my boys having their snacks while facing a great view of tulips.
And took more photos.
My kids really enjoyed it....
....and so am I.
Back then, my son Angelo was learning colors and I am glad he can identify what color are those tulips (as you all know my son have an autism). Every visit and travel we do, we make sure to integrate our son's milestones development particularly in learning, behavior and speech. And it is always effective for him.
I will share more of my family's journey on my future posts. Thank you. ❤
