Abeokuta is the capital city of Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria. It is the largeat city in the state and it prides itself in its rich cultural heritage. The city lies below the famous Olumo Rock which houses several caves and shrines. The city is also the hub for a special fabric called the Àdìre or Kampala A special patterned fabric made from numerous local dyes.
The city showcases some of this cultural heritage by erecting sculptures at strategic locations, and designing of walls and platforms with pictures of the àdìre fabric and other items that represent the culture of the Yorùbá tribe.
