Reaching 102 years of age is not an easy task and there are not many who achieve it. That is why, the fact that on February 20, Master Juan Vicente Torrealba achieved this feat, was worth mentioning it. Motivated by that same reason I wrote the post Juan Vicente Torrealba in #MyMusic [English - Español - Deutsch], to tell who he is and highlight some of the achievements of this distinguished musician, who was responsible, among other things, for revolutionizing the music of the Venezuelan plains to generate a "new musical form" inspired by llanera music, but for consumption in the cities.

As a musician hungry for experiences, Juan Vicente went through many musical genres, including Cuban rhythms, which was the first thing he played. So much so that his first public perfromance was playing the Cuban song "Cuidaíto compay gallo".

Taking that fact as inspiration, I present my participation for this PitchPerfect, in their week #58, which consists of one of their most successful compositions, as is "Rosario", but with the rhythm of the Cuban son.

Cumplir 102 años de edad no es tarea fácil y no son muchos los que lo logran. Por eso, que el pasado 20 de febrero el maestro Juan Vicente Torrealba lograra esa hazaña, era digno de mención. Motivado por esa misma razón escribí el post Juan Vicente Torrealba in #MyMusic [English - Español - Deutsch], para contar quién es y resaltar algunos de los logros de este insigne músico, quien fue responsable, entre otras cosas, de revolucionar la música de los llanos venezolanos para generar una "nueva forma musical" inspirada en la música llanera, pero para el consumo en las ciudades.

Como músico ávido de experiencias, Juan Vicente transitó muchos géneros musicales, incluyendo los ritmos cubanos que fue de lo primero que interpretó. Tanto así que su primera presentación en público fue tocando la canción cubana "Cuidaíto compay gallo".

Tomando ese hecho como inspiración, les presento mi participación para este PitchPerfect, en su semana #58, la cual consiste en una de sus composiciones más éxitosas, como lo es "Rosario", pero con el ritmo del son cubano.
