I took these photos last night from my deck, and luckily this morning the Pulehu fire pictured (above) was pretty much extinguished by the rain.

Unfortunately, there are still a few fires burning on Maui, but they should get under control soon once the winds from Dora are finally gone.

Who would have thought that Hurricane Dora would bring firey destruction over water?

The weather forecast was for rosy skies as the hurricane passed below the island chain. Right when we think we dodged that bullet, a surprise wave of fires arrived, with fanned flames by Dora scorching our Paradise even further while turning it from a parking lot into an "Apocalypse death zombie vacation final destination!"
