Looks like a quintessential life,
Heart is hard-pressed inwardly.
The guise of smile, blithe seems rife,
Look beyond, the face of melancholy.
Kept hearing those undesirable voice,
Hankering to procure a happy pill.
Into the extremes, remain in poise.
The sight of joy, masking is real.
All I need is emancipation from depression,
See the light away from captivity.
Oh freedom, I have self-determination,
Liberation brings me to tranquility.
This poem was written to join the contest initiated by @terrycraft. It is about that longing of freedom from the depression, which is afflicting many. May everyone find tranquility and real happiness.
