Poetry Dice

Click here for the contest rules by @robyneggs! I used all nine dice in the following order, with some creative license as noted in parentheses: lock, clock (time), flower (bloom), dice, book (legends), castle, tower, sad, balance.

In keeping with the number of dice, I decided to also use nine syllables per line, and almost managed to have each line alternate between stressed and unstressed syllables, with each ending word stressed.

Deceptive Adulthood

Locked away by time, the bloom of youth,
Dice are cast, life's choices saw them rolled.
Legends cast aside as if untruth,
Castles just a memory of old.
Modern towers now stand in their place,
Sad "reality" now dominates,
Balance is replaced by the rat race,
Mind decays as "adulthood" mandates.
