The elephantine scars in the mind,
is like a flooded soul, dripping
gutted conscience glaring in the gutter,
fluttering by are doves in cloves,
but the mindset is redolenced like mint,
making the blooded skies difficult to see,
we're rats in holes crowned emperors,
we're kinsmen to poverty,
but blinded to our daylight darkness

We're blinded by sight,
gliding the desert in rabbit sleighs,
hunger is a crown to our bruised ego,
hugging the ribs is thirst,
but the gold coins jingling in our pockets,
is the emptiness tapping still,
in the depth of our scorched soul,
swimming in empty streams,
and filling the belly with starvation

There's blindness in sight,
headlights in the hallway,
we wish to withhold the scenarios
clotting blood, scattering abroad,
drenched compunction, guilty quintessence
but the pupils are battered like custard,
we're sinners in angels regalia,
basking in the euphoria of transgressions

We're like shepherds in the bayou,
leading wolves instead of sheeps,
we're rascally ragged, running away,
from the air we breathe,
strapped the our perception is a veil,
covering our abilities to discern,
the afternoon warmth serenading us,
feels like a viper's fang on our throats,
there's blindness in the sight,
burning bright into our darkness.
