Katie Shepherd's article from Willamette Week provides local reportage of the Portland (Oregon) Mayor's attempt to politicize law enforcement's response to Antifa's assault upon police during a June protest. During that event, readers may recall, masked fascist thugs used slingshots to attack police with urine/feces/chemical-filled balloons. Mayor Wheeler is, of course, a Democrat. (Color me shocked.)

It is time to sound the alarm, for if we begin to accept the idea that our neighbor (at least the ones who disagree with us) can be "done away with" and we'd be "better off" if we did we are a nation that will have already lost every societal challenge we have to face, and in very short order will no longer be a nation at all.
Last month, an ANTIFA anti-Trump protester forgot to throw out his flyers and what he left behind was horrifying. Strewn about were pamphlets revealing a terrifying slogan, “The evil white race must be destroyed!”
They seem unaware of the obvious fact that if you want to silence and kill people with whom you disagree, you’re the fascist. The reason we bring this up is because it’s a natural progression based on the recent assaults and threats on police.
Portland Police Chief Mike Marshman said today that riot cops pushed antifascist and anarchist protesters out of downtown parks June 4 after the protesters used slingshots to launch balloons filled with urine, feces and unknown chemicals into police ranks.
Chief Mike Marshman's allegations come in a response to questions from Mayor Wheeler about police response to protests.
