have you seen this post from Steem INC?
This post is one of the 3 that have been posted in a time frame smaller than 24h by Steem INC.
It is good to receive updates on development as it shows that the things are going. I could still argue that there is no timeplan behind and the things are done to agile for my taste. More like in a firefighter mode, where the biggest fire is the first to be tackled, but this is the way Steem Inc has been working since I know it.
Let's see if the SMT's will be combined in any way with steem engine or other projects that run in the tokenisation of the chain will be considered. This is a legit question where I think people shall keep an eye on.
Another one shall be if Steem will be printed only by the witnesses or also by others? Tokenising the Steem blockchain can and maybe shall lead to a Steem free enviroment, where Steem shall be printed by witnesses and be the exchange coin for outside of the Steem blockchain. The go to value of powering the SMT's and the chain, like ENG is doing on the steem engine.
