#Ulog: @artgirl 09-25-18, How Time Flies... Some Thoughts on Charity

Time flies. The faster it flies the slower I feel. šŸ˜… The slower I feel, the older I think. (What? Hahahaha.) But let's not talk much about that. Let's focus on counting and sharing our blessings.

During the past few weeks I've been able to change a bit of my mindset for the better. Our thoughts can be powerful. What we envision, say and do everyday will change our life. So if we always think about/focus on the bad things that happened instead of learning from it, moving on and focusing on what we also did good then we won't be happy at all.

Recently I was able to do some charity work because of this. It's good to share our blessings even if we don't ask for anything. šŸ˜… No I didn't win any lottery at all but I still felt like doing some charity work. We don't need to be rich in order to help others. Every little bit counts.

Also I've been getting some free food again. šŸ™„ (Dear Lord, I'd like more pre-selling Westin residential property buyers if that's fine with You. šŸ˜…) I don't know, I just feel like I'm being donated to everytime someone gives me something I don't need. Am I a charity case? Is it because our family is not rich? Ah well... Somehow there is something wrong somewhere in this picture.

Dear readers, if you are planning to give something to someone please make sure they will appreciate it or they really need it. Don't give something just for the sake of giving.

Remember, we should only provide what we have. (If you feel otherwise, it's up to you on what to do.) It is better to find out what others need or want and provide it if you can. In that way, your acts of charity will be gladly used and accepted plus you won't even feel forced to do it.

Anyway of course I am grateful to get free food, just not something that easily spoils. šŸ™„ I can't eat them immediately because I have my own food in the refrigerator. How can I eat everything when I'm busy working? šŸ˜… I did tell them it's not necessary but hey they want to share the freebies they get too. Oh well.

Speaking of charities I will share one of the best here in the Philippines: Caritas Manila.

Caritas Manila is part of Caritas Internationalis, a helping hand of the Church, giving the needy the "tools to transform their own lives". The Philippine organization focuses more on education, health and disaster management programs among other things.

These are what I like the most about them.

The best part is, they are easy to contact. They respond quickly to emails and also do pick ups of in kind donations. What a surprise! šŸ˜… Those are all plus points for me. Hahaha. And guess what? They do not have a minimum for pick ups!

(Personally of course if you choose to have pick ups done, hopefully you don't have just one small plastic of goods? I dunno. It just feels like it would be more worth their trips if everything they will pick up is enough for their gas expense or something. But of course that's just me.)

They said they have no minimum for pick ups and you can even donate defective appliances! 😱😱😱 Amazing right? Two in one for me. I was able to dispose some of the things from our household clutter. Haha.

Rest assured you can contact them via phone or email for better coordination. šŸ˜‰ They will provide a schedule of pick up and you can confirm if that schedule is good or not. Their contact details can be found at their contact us page.

On top of that, they also have newsletters and updates on their website regarding what they've accomplished. Now that's how transparency should always be done. šŸ‘

They even have dollar accounts where anyone outside of the Philippines can send their donations to. Fantastic eh?

They are super easy to communicate with. Ah if only everyone is not so difficult to deal with and be more like them. šŸ˜… In case you don't get an immediate response, it might be because it was covered by all the other emails they get. That's what they told me when I called them about one of my emails.

Caritas Manila also accept volunteers! Wow. That's something I've yet to do. All in good time. 😁

More details can be found at the Caritas Manila website.

How about you? Which charities do you like best?

XOXO,
@artgirl
