Peñon del Cuervo beach is located in the capital of Malaga, also called Costa del Sol. It is one of the most remote beaches, where there are no more houses or buildings, surrounded by pure nature.
Its name is due to a large rock formation that can be seen in the distance. This large rock divides the beach into two areas. Many times concerts and night parties are held there around a bonfire where sardine skewers are made.
To be more specific, it is located between La Araña beach and a cement factory.
It has an extension of more than 450 meters long and 25 meters wide on the beach.
To get to this beach the alternatives are car, bicycle or bus (internal to the city or those leading to the villages), but in the latter case, the last stop is about 30 minutes walk along the established trails.
There are several trails, arranged at different heights in order to reach the location of this beach. And through them you can have different views of the beach, rock formations and vegetation of the place.
Once you get off the bus, first we find the Club Nautico El Candado, where you can see the beauty of the boats under the sunlight.
From there the city ends with the typical houses and buildings and the wonderful paths to nature begin.
I followed the marked path, which has the name of Paseo de los Canadienses and extends all the way to the beach and a little further.
It is a path with a lot of sun, there are practically no trees, only palm trees from time to time, but not much shade.
The views along the way both towards the sea and towards the mountains and rocks are amazing. Many people choose this path for walking or jogging, it is absolutely quiet.
Occasionally, during the walk we can find places to sit and enjoy the views of the Mediterranean Sea. It is very worthwhile.
There are also areas where you can go down between different plants and the amount of rocks and see the sea more closely.
From the lowest path you can see the others at different scales and different places.
If we turn our gaze towards the city, we will get wonderful postcards of the sea, the mountains and the city. You can only hear the immensity of the sea and the wind that blows stronger in these areas.
Following the road you can see the aforementioned factory and that indicates that the beach and its large rock are closer.
The viewpoints are exceptional, every step is a different landscape, changing at every moment. A marvel.
Imposing the giant rock that emerges from the sea, rises before my eyes. Many times I had seen this beauty in photographs, but now my eyes were seeing it live, it is amazing.
This time of the year there is no tourism in this area and very few people, it is much more enjoyable.
Arriving to the place I could see the palm trees, the games for children, the barbecue areas, a bridge with a new path called as the beach itself.
It is one of the beaches chosen by families to take their children, as it is very quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In addition, it has a special space for barbecues, which makes it special for those family or friends gatherings.
This beach constitutes an important protected biological enclave, because in it we can find a plant that is in danger of extinction: the Malaga evergreen evergreen.
Lacking restaurants, beach bars and being far from the city, it constitutes a space to be in pure contact with nature, where peace and tranquility reside.
The beach has parking for more than 50 cars and is free of charge. Also nearby you can see several caravans, many tourists prefer this relaxing space of nature and away from the city.
It also has playgrounds for children to spend a fun time, with a variety of games.
Following this new path you can see different views, always beautiful, with signs indicating the marine species of the place.
New places to rest and admire the landscape.
I also came across a tunnel where the Paseo de los Canadienses ends. It is named after the help received by the Malagueños who fled in 1937.
After doing the whole tour I focused on the big rock that is the icon of the beach, in the shape of an isthmus and that gives it its name.

That contact with it and the water that surrounds it is wonderful. To appreciate each piece of stone, its formations, the erosion made by the water on it and the sound of the sea. All this forms a natural set of extreme beauty.
After enjoying that time, when I was returning to the road I spotted a sundial, I was pleasantly surprised to see it there.
For the return I chose a higher path, climbing some stairs I reached it.
I leave you the final beautiful views of this wonderful place I have visited. The contact with nature is exceptional.
A place that absolutely deserves the visit, it brings relaxation and well being.
Thank you all very much for watching and reading this far, until next time.
