There is a term in the Malaysian Chinese culture called "Zhap Fan" (Mixed Rice in Cantonese). Where you are given an empty plate with some rice and you can choose from dozens of dishes on display.
The choices usually overwhelm me because I'm the type to always eat everything in front of me. But for this meal I choose 1 meat dish (pork fat with soy sauce) and 2 vegetables (bitter gourd with egg and mushroom soy sauce). The price is actually very okay, considering you get complimentary drinks and soup.
The ambiance is also very comfortable for eating. The place is clean and the temperature is soothing for taking a meal even if the place is crowded.
The whole meal costs me 7MYR, which is about $1.70 USD. Pretty cheap for KL food.
