Life is more complicated than it needs to be but making bread is simple. A lot has been happening in this crazy world with politics, the markets and even with Steem so this is going to be a fluffy post about some bread we've been baking. You don't need much to bake bread, humans have been doing it for thousands of years. Making everyday things from scratch is much easier than you think.

The only ingredients required to make this artisan bread are flour, active dry yeast, salt, and water. You do however need a bit of time and a dutch oven. I used 3 cups of whole-wheat non-bleached flour, a teaspoon of yeast, a couple of teaspoons of salt and a cup and a half of water.
After mixing the ingredients together, you leave the dough overnight to rise. The next day mix it up again add more flour and wait another hour or so. Then you heat up the dutch oven (in the oven) to at least 450F or 230C and once it's hot put the dough in there. Cook it for 45 minutes then take off the lid and cook it for another 10 to 15 minutes depending on how dark you want the crust.
Yes, that's it. Simple ingredients and science does most of the work. Much of the bread you buy in the store is filled with all sorts of things that are difficult to pronounce. There are enough chemicals and complexity in our lives and baking bread brings things back to the basics.
Here's a picture of some banana bread we made a couple of months ago, it's really easy to make too. The best part about cooking is that you have complete control over what goes in there. Many things can be substituted and with the internet and a little bit of attention, anyone can do it!

We want to get into making more complicated bread but not ones which require a mixing machine. If any of you know a simple recipe, please share it.
Thanks for reading and have a great week 🐱
