One of the major contributor of ill health in my country is the tobacco products which is killing not only the smokers but also the second-hand smokers, the people or family members of the smokers because they are inhaling the smoke that is blown off by the tobacco user.
Tobacco smoke has a lot of things in it which are deemed carcinogen for the body, nothing can be of benefit from it even from the taxes that the government could collect from its sale because the people who gets sick from Tobacco smoke inhalation will someday be a burden to society when they finally are not productive anymore plus when they come to get some help from the government and if you sum it up, it is not a good price to pay for an addiction that damages society.
I am okay for the government to hike up the taxes on Tobacco and liquor and such vice products because it will discourage young people to even start with such body-degrading activity if the prices will be high enough.
It will then give the government some better revenue to use for other good things in the welfare of the people. I am just lucky that we have one of the best president in my country right now because he has the political will to make the lives of my fellow countrymen better.
So I am satisfied for why President Duterte is doing because even my parents are enjoying what he approved before in their interest as their pension now have been also hiked up with their social security benefits but in increments. I am just happy on what he is currently doing and I hope that he will get to be re-elected in the next election which I am sure he will win again if he is persuaded to run again that is.
