Dear Steemit friends and followers,
Welcome to my Travel Tip series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
Today, however, I will make a little exception as I will show you one of the most beautiful places found in neighboring Slovakia, the Mala Fatra National Park.

Located in Northern Slovakia, just some 40 km (25 mi) from the Czech-Slovakian border, the Mala Fatra National Park is a protected landscape area occupying 226 sq km (90 sq mi) of pristine Slovakian nature.
Classified as national park since 1988, the area boasts numerous natural beauties such as unique rock formations, extensive pine woods, alpine meadows, waterfalls, gorges, rivers, lakes and much more.

The Mala Fatra National Park is also home to a number of animal species including the brown bear, the lynx, the grey wolf, several species of eagles and other raptors etc.

The national park is covered with a network of perfectly maintained hiking trails that vary greatly in length and difficulty so that everyone can enjoy some outdoor fun at this extraordinary place full of natural wonders. There are three main starting points to explore the park – villages of Vratna, Terchova and Stefanova. If you decide to visit our Slovakian neighbors, make sure to check out this stunning national park.
