Dear Steemit friends and followers,
Welcome to my Travel Tip series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
Today, I will show you one of the most beautiful, yet relatively unknown natural places of the country, an amazing rock formation known as Panska Skala.

Located just outside the town of Kamenicky Senov in the northern part of the Czech Republic, Panska Skala (translates as the Lord´s Rock) is a unique rock formation consisting of a number of interlocking, pentagonal and hexagonal basalt columns.
Created during an ancient volcanic eruption some 30 million years ago, the basalt columns are up to 12 m (40 ft) high and they are arranged into a shape resembling the pipe organ (hence the colloquial name “The Stone Organ”).
A crystal clear, volcanic lake was formed under the rocks, giving the place even more mesmerizing atmosphere as the rocks mirror in the water.

A protected natural landmark since 1895, Panska Skala remains relatively unknown to foreign visitors of the country but the place has been a popular tourist spot for the locals. There are several hiking trails and cycling routes around the rocks.

Thanks to its extraordinary natural beauty, the place has been also featured in several films, including some of the most popular Czech fairy tales.
