Sugar Ants

I was babysitting my nephew when I noticed a few ants gathered around a small drop of water in the plastic carpet where we were playing.

I totally forgot what it was, until I realized the belly of those sugar ants were getting bigger. It seems that it was some droplets from the drinks that my nephew drank earlier. Should I worry about the drink he drank? but I guess it is another topic that I should discuss with my brother. : )

Anyway, this is a kind of sugar ant, but I am not really sure of the species of this ant. But we Balinese usually called it Semaluh and they are usually found in the kitchen trying to find the sugar. Some of them can even bite open the sugar container.

But despite their big size and their ability to bite open the sugar container, they usually will just run away from humans, I hardly get bitten by them whenever I found them.
