Hey dear Hiveans, first of all I would like to welcome you to my contribution and hope you have a weekend that is full of positive experiences! Today I would like to bring you a mineral a little closer and hope you can learn something new.
An interesting specimen of a phosphate mineral can be seen here, which is also known as variscite and belongs to the group of vanadates, phosphates and arsenates. Variscite was named by the mineralogist August Breithaupt (1791 - 1873) and most specimens are green or yellow, but there are also red specimens. How many minerals this one was also named after the place of discovery which is the Vogtland region in Germany and the Latin name for this area is Variscia. The appearance of the crystals is transparent and glass-like and it is found as a secondary mineral and is created by the conversion of aluminum-containing rocks. It is often found together with quartz, wavellite or apatite and on this specimen you can also see wavellite and who should be interested in it will find a contribution from me here.
The crystals of variscite are relatively brittle, but it is processed into jewelry and in addition to being used in the jewelry industry, it is mainly popular in collectors circles. This rather rare mineral is also often used as a healing stone and is the field of application relatively diverse and the most interesting is probably the effect on the metabolism and the immune system as well as the psychological balance. It could also have a positive effect on the DNA and from a spiritual point of view it can have a special effect on the Solar Plexus Chakra soft also as Manipura and can also be helpful to improve intuition. As always, it is important to mention that minerals are alternative medicine and in case of illness you should always ask your doctor or pharmacist for the right medicine!
Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my new contribution! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens!
