I told myself if The Hermit came out again, I was going to give up this project. He must have heard me, because he stayed away from this one, but he showed up in the one I do for myself on the week-end. I think he's just messing with me -- so we'll see if this turns into a game of Chicken or not. Meanwhile, a few glimmers of hope are working their way through in this week's lay out. So, let's get started.
Editor's Note: I know it's no longer Sunday. Maybe that matters, maybe not. I did this layout yesterday -- like I was supposed to. I literally could not make myself write it up. Are we talking resistance ... or what?
Then I told myself I wasn't going to do it at all. Nobody notices -- and I'd got the message -- to work with or not ... whatever I chose -- so maybe that was the important part -- and it had done it's job.
But when I woke up today, my intuition kept pushing me to do this. And I'm supposed to listen to that. It's part of the deal. Also part of the deal is the fact that The Hermit card stayed out of the spotlight -- like I asked in the beginning -- so if the Tarot played fair with me, I needed to do the same.
Things are in quite a mess when I'm so conflicted I avoid reading my own cards -- but it happens. It's not the first time. Chances are, it won't be the last. Here we go. For real this time. May the cards speak to you just as clearly.
This week's theme
The Empress Rx = barrenness, being creatively blocked, lack of flow / lack of a value-for-value exchange, lack of support, feeling unappreciated / undervalued ---> turning inward to re-establish connection with your feminine source ...
You are dealing with apathy, serious burn-out, a deep lack of motivation, lack of interest, lack of support, a major disconnect. You need to find or create a more receptive, appealing situation.
This card reversed carries undertones of jealousy, resentment, feeling used / exploited, exhaustion, even illness. It's time to step back, take better care of yourself & rediscover your self-worth & satisfaction. Wherever you are giving away pieces of yourself without adequate return, it's time to reclaim that energy.
This week's personal issue
Knight of Rods = This is Fire energy "on a mission" ---> out-going, dramatic, confident, self-sufficient ---> he knows who he is, he knows what he wants, he gets results ---> he shakes things up / he doesn't take No for an answer --->
Get back in touch with this part of you ---> this is the inner self you need to resurrect. He knows how to use energy properly, & if you've forgotten, let him show you. Start a dialogue w/ this part of yourself ---> get to know him (or her.) Talk to him. Listen to what he has to tell you. What does he want? How can he help? What cooperation can you offer each other?
Knight energy is very focused. It has something to do, something it wants to accomplish that means something important. Reconnect w/ the spirit of this energy. Rediscover its passion & drive. There is purpose here you need to discover, engage w/ & help bring into reality. What is it? Can you write it down? Because that helps define it clearly in your mind & in the mind of The Universal.
Perhaps your goal this week should be to come up with a clear mission statement you can use to direct & clarify your intentions & directions.
This week's emotional issue
2 of Cups = strong emotion, an energy as powerful as "falling in love" with someone (or some equally inspiring situation), the potential for mutual exchange & benefit between you & someone / some circumstances that feel almost "made for each other" ---> suggests the possibility of an agreement, proposal or some arrangement that can become very emotionally fulfilling in time --->
Shows the possibility of a new relationship between you & someone (or some situation) who can help you create something of mutual value. This is a partnership / exchange based on genuine respect & friendship -- perhaps even love is involved ... it is that serious.
This is an energy of reciprocal respect & common values, something still in the "development phase" but which can turn into something that helps support you both w/ profits & advantages over time ---> you are good for each other ---> this is a compatible, caring relationship --->

9 of Swords = worry, stress, anxiety, paranoia, intellectual anguish so intense it can actually cause physical damage
This is a strange one to have here, because the companions who've come to answer the call to action from the exhausted Empress are all clearly positive & in a position to help. So ... it's likely your own thoughts, opinions, beliefs, prejudices & mindset are working against you -- maybe even at the root of the problem.
This card's appearance, however, reinforces the truth of your mind's power to create, control & ultimately change your reality. There is tremendous power here.
It's also highly developed. 9 energy indicates the upcoming end of a cycle of thought & perception. In fact, the step beyond 9, is the 10 of Swords, a ghastly energy of betrayal, desolation, defeat -- even the death of some thought or state of mind (state of being) that has been extremely influential in creating who you are & what you're experiencing today.
The 10S also shows the absolute necessity to release some counter-productive / destructive idea or perspective ... because it has brought you to ruin. It shows you being forced to change your mind (and therefore change your life!!) because you have no other choice. You can either step into this ending gently & voluntarily, or you can be pushed into it be a Life power that has taken on its own momentum.
Your own power of choice is the control you have here. You'd be well advised to use it -- because at this point it's become pretty much inevitable. Put this power on your side in this struggle. Use it properly.
Stop being your own worst adversary -- because you do have what it takes in all other respects to turn this situation into something useful & thriving. Be there for yourself. At least be on your own side as you work through this.

This card brings the promise of new beginnings, a fresh start on the material / physical level, perhaps a new financial opportunity, news & ideas about a profitable venture, a creative project that will prove useful & lucrative.
