First of all, I want to thank @surpassinggoogle for initiating @ulogs. There is always something from our day-to-day existence that we can share with fellow Steemians, so there won't be a reason that we can't submit a post on a daily basis. I understand that most of the time it can be overwhelming and pretty daunting to think of an idea of what to write that you may be able to generate audience or readers. But just with simple things, we can find beauty and inspiration that is worth sharing.
Another great idea is my sister @dynamicshine's #dynamicgratitude or "Appreciation Day" post. There are many people in our lives we can be thankful for, even just here on Steemit. If only my husband had a Steemit account, I would have an "Appreciation Day" post dedicated to him every day. But I know he would not like me to tell the whole world about his good points, what about him that I love, because he actually doesn't like social media. To him, what is personal should be kept private and people don't need to know.
Though I do agree with him that there are things we should not always resort to posting on Facebook, Twitter, Steemit or any other social media, but if you are going to be able to encourage, motivate and inspire people with what you have to say, I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

So, my loving husband made me a lamb yiros for lunch this afternoon. It's not always that a woman should cook for her man. Don't you know that the way to a woman's heart is through her stomach, too?

γύρος in Greek; gyros in America; yiros in Australia
So whilst I was on the Discord, relaxing and chatting away, my husband was making yiroses for us both. Then I showed them the picture. @yati arrived and asked what we were talking about, and we said food! She suggested that I should share the recipe with them. @bunnychum thought about the same thing, then I said:
Great minds think alike! (This quote was actually used three times in our entire conversation.)
I thanked @yati for giving me an idea for a blog post, and I said this would be my first #ulog post.
Here's the recipe, and I hope you'll enjoy making it yourself. It's so easy to make, and it's a healthy choice, too, either for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients:
- Lamb yiros meat (I prefer store-bought so I don't have to marinate it)
- Pita bread
- Canola or Vegetable or any cooking oil spray
- Slliced tomatoes
- Sliced red onions
- Lettuce or baby spinach (whichever is available)
- Salt and pepper to taste (optional)
- Tzatziki or garlic sauce (definitely homemade)
Method:
- Grease the frying pan using cooking oil spray.
- Cook the meat in the frying pan over medium heat until brown then set aside.
- Spray oil on pita bread and using the same frying pan, gently toast the bread on both sides to your desired texture, either crispy or crunchy or soft. (I like my pita bread soft.)
- Put the pita bread on a plate.
- Spread garlic sauce onto the pita bread.
- Top with lamb meat, tomatoes, red onion, and lettuce.
- Season with salt and pepper (optional).
- Fold or roll the bread with a toothpick to hold the bread and the toppings together.
Ingredients:
- 500g Greek natural yoghurt
- cloves of garlic
- 1 cucumber
- salt
- 2 tbsps fresh lemon juice
Method:
- Transfer the yoghurt to a cheesecloth to get rid of excess juice. It's recommended to do it overnight so that the sauce will be thick and not watery.
- Once strained, transfer it to a mixing bowl.
- Press the cloves of garlic until it becomes paste. (The amount of cloves you want for your sauce depends on how strong the taste of garlic you desire.)
- Coarsely grate the cucumber, and strain it using the same cheesecloth, too.
- Combine the garllic paste, grated cucumber, and lemon juice with the yoghurt and mix well.
- Season with salt.
- Cover and place in fridge.
(Note: Some children may not appreciate the strong taste of garlic, so instead of using tzatziki spread, you may use mayonnaise or sour cream.)
