Season 9 of Steemmonsters is behind us now. Time to have a recap!
I did end up a little bit higher in the ranked than in season 8. Rank 364 compared to 448. Also I did score some more points and did end the season in Gold I. For the second season in a row I did try to get back into Diamond league but I do understand now, that this will not happen anymore yet. With the card delegation (more about that later) I doubt it that I will reach Gold I again this season.
The rewards
Because I did climb out of the Silver League a little bit sooner than in season 8, I did get 10 more reward cards.
In season 8 I was rewarded with 111 cards with a value back then of $4.62.
Let's see what season 9 did for me!

Well much better than expected. In total 121 cards good for a value of $7.09.
Most cards were sold immediately. Others were used to strengthen the collection.
I did invest during season 9 in some single cards and it appears that it maybe was worth it!
I really need to score another Sacred Unicorn so that I can power it up to level 2. Which will make a big difference.
Tournaments
I did play 2 tournaments during season 9. I did wrote in the season 8 recap that I would probably never play one but I did.
In the first tournament I was eliminated in round 1. In the second one, I was capable to get into the second round, where I didn't have any change. Did ran into a player with a max out set!
Season 10 and card delegation
I will play season 10 but ... I don't think that the card delegation is a good thing for most players. Card delegation is an excellent business model for the player who do have more than 1 same card with a decent level. They will rent these out and earn a passive income. The player who will be renting or leasing the card will probably get in the higher regions of the leaderboards and will also make a chance in tournaments.
So again for the small players, this means that you will have to invest or you will be only left with the crumbles left behind!
I did purchase a booster pack yesterday, to see how they did change the opening of the cards. Mixed feelings about it! They did animate it for a part. But they could have gone a little bit further and also animated the turning of the cards also!
I am really in dubio, in which direction steemmonsters go! I am sure that I will see the same opponents over and over again! I am pretty sure that due to the card delegation I will not make it to Gold I anymore. I will try and play as normal!
What are your ideas about the card delegation?
Is it good, is it bad. Good for big players, bad for small fishes?
Like to hear!
Cheers,
Peter
