It was a shock last year when Steemit had to lay off 70% of its staff as well as steemit being sold.
There was the drastic drop of all prices for cryptocurrency which recently some are recovering since Bitcoin is getting back its momentum.
Many thought that things are not going well on steem platform and they started to join other platforms like whaleshares, weku, bearshares, smoke, scorum etc
Most of them decided not to put all their eggs into a basket in case things do not work out for steem platform.
Steem platform has started to heat up again due to the recent introduction of Palnet interface by @minnowsupport.

It is very much like the whatsapp group that we have on our mobile phones.
Whaleshares also has the function where we can add friends where the usual platforms would only have people we follow and those who follow us.
Whaleshares has also incorporated the use of eos interface where one can send a whaletoken via eos interface to get an upvote for their post.
Last year, we had many uncertainties of how our beloved social platform would work out with lots of negative posts or comments but new hope arises with new innovative initiatives.
Perhaps we can still see many cryptocurrency social platforms around in many years to come and leave our accounts to our children and many generations down the road as an inheritance.
With every investment, there is a certain degree of risk.
The chance for greater success may often happen to those who are willing to take a step out of the system and their comfort zone.
On the other hand, investment beyond what we can afford is stupidity that may cause the collapse of a happy family.
