What was the reason of you joining the Steemit platform? I was introduced to this platform with the idea that I will be able to make some earnings out of my contents. It was a really clever marketing strategy that can almost immediately make anyone sign-up since no one made direct earnings out of their social media activities.

This is probably one of the reasons why some of the steemit users are reluctant about the idea of 50/50 split. We are used to the idea than an author should get paid more than the curator since most of the effort is on the author. I believe this is how an author view this scenario to protect their own interest, their contents. Of course we value our own contents much like how the curators value their own investment.
Which led me to the view that one of the reasons why some are in favor of 50/50 split to protect their own interest, their investment. In theory, a powered up stake is more valued since it has the capacity to earn more than ever.
How about 20/80 rewards split? With this distribution, the majority of the rewards will now go to the curators of the content. It's obviously a lucrative use of stake.
This experiment is being discussed for PALnet.
Of course, some are worried that there won't be content curators that will participate to this kind of distribution anymore. The creators will feel unappreciated in this setup.
How is this gonna attract creators then?
Well, there is a platform that I participated for about a month, it's called Cent. The reward split is 25/75 in favor of seeders/curators.
Surprisingly, there are content creators that post in that platform. It sounds crazy but it's true.
How come they still post?
The way I see it, the creators are not there for the earnings, they post for "attention". The creators are their to showcase their talent and promote something that they are working on.
It's a totally different concept compared to Steem. In steemit, creators are supposed to be rewarded for their contents.
Does this distribution model is too good to be true?
Aren't we generous enough to make this a reality?
