What's Happening With Hobo Tokens?

We're giving away Hobo tokens to our readers! We value our followers and curators and so we've decided to provide a long-term gifting program to the Hobo Media community. We welcome you to become a fellow Hobo, content creation partner, token hodler and friend.

Hobo Media plans to team up with many businesses to cultivate a thriving economy around the Hobo token for the decentralized content creation network. You can join us and be a part of this new, open journalism community.

We provide 100 FREE Hobo tokens (HBO) to each follower. Some members of the Steem community have followed us to receive HBO, unfollowed and then re-followed in hopes of more HBO. We've fixed this issue so that we can identify if we have already sent someone the 100 HBO. Please don't try to game our system, we truly want you to have plenty of opportunities to obtain HBO and we'll provide more opportunities for you in the future.

Following for 100 HBO is good, but being gifted thousands of HBO is better! We reward curators for being an active participant with us because we value your attention. Here are the details about the Hobo Media token program:

Random Selection:

First 100 Rounds - 5000 HBO
101-200 Rounds - 3000 HBO
201-300 Rounds - 1000 HBO
301-400 Rounds - 500 HBO
401-500 Rounds - 250 HBO
501-600 Rounds - 100 HBO
601-700 Rounds - 40 HBO
701-800 Rounds - 10 HBO

How is the Random Selection system decided?

Each round is a piece of content produced by @hobo.media and posted to the Steem blockchain. First, we count the total curators upvoting the post after the 7 day curation period has ended. For example, let's pretend this post received 100 upvotes, that means the starting number is 100.

We assign every curator (upvoter) one or more numbers. For upvoting Hobo Media content you receive one number, but we add bonus numbers to your name for additional details. Going back to the example, we started with the number 100, then we noted that not all of those curators are following @hobo.media. Since only 50 of the 100 are following @hobo.media, the total number becomes 150 with half of the curators having two numbers attached to their name.

Let's imagine you are the curator that receives the gift. You received the number 5 to your name for upvoting, and also number 113 for being a follower of @hobo.media. Simply by being a follower and upvoter you have doubled your chances of receiving the HBO.

We're not quite finished with the math. You also had the number 151 added to your name for curating with a 100% upvote. Additionally, your account was verified to not be a bot, giving you a fourth number, let's say its 169. When @hobo.media runs the total numbers through the generator, number 113 is selected. Congratulations, you just got a bag full of HBO!
