Many moons ago, before I got my new PC and I was gaming on my laptop, I had started a brand new Minecraft world with intent to add to it over time and build it up into a vast world filled with towns, cities, points of interest, everything!
But then... I bought my new PC. So excited I was to finally have a Glorious Machine of Exceptional Capability, I swiftly formatted my laptop and presented it to my son. It was now his.
When I did that I may have inadvertently deleted my Minecraft world. Woops. XD

Over a year later I have the motivation to begin this endeavour once more. I present to you the beginnings of a new Fan'driel. A survival world that I will, once again, build up over time.
And this time not inadvertently send it to the void.

This time, instead of hunting for a decent seed for hours, I decided to google Minecraft seeds and found this interesting looking one where you spawn in a cherry blossom biome that rings around a giant crater.
It looked like a nice enough spot, and so I dove down into the crater and began my mine. The first great steps of this grand new Minecraft world.

First thing's first — well, apart from mining — I performed some basic terraforming. I wanted the inside of the crater all nice and flat and I was going to fill the thing with ponds and waterfalls!

Back-and-forthing from terraforming to mining back to terraforming, I discovered a very conveniently placed mine-shaft in the midst of my tunnels with a very conveniently placed cave spider spawner for XP purposes.
Investigating the mine-shafts, I soon discovered several cave spider spawners! And legged it the hell out of there before they poisoned me to death. I surrounded the first one with torches though and will be back to build an XP farm at a later point.

In the mine-shafts I also found an enchanted golden apple that I'll never eat but gaze upon in wonder - woo!

And then it was back to more aesthetic terraforming and decorating.
My next step for this first little crater is to find a swamp and bring back some lily-pads for those ponds, some vines, some of the tall purple flowers, and I might do some seating around the area too. Maybe a gazebo.
Unfortunately I find myself having to go off and hunt for food more often than I'd like, so my actual next steps are to prepare some farmland.

Outside of the cherry blossom ring are some meadows, rivers, and forests. The immediate area are the meadows and so I build a giant staircase down, down, down the crater-side until I reach where I would like to start doing some more terraforming.

Unfortunately I soon discovered that the area to the left led down to a massive cave system, so I decided to work on the right side first and work out what to do with the cave system later.

I was barely a quarter of the way through my terraforming plans before I groaned and wished I had enchanted diamond tools.
I kept on going on with iron tools for as long as I could though. Food's important after all, so I kept grabbing a bunch of fish and cooking those up whilst continuing my painstaking endeavour.
84 years later.

I'm slowly getting there. xD
I'm going to flatten it all out to the back "wall" in the above screenshot, and extend out the flatness towards the river. Down in this valley will be cows and wheat but I'm going to design the area so they're more free-ranged rather than penned. Well, the cows anyway, not the wheat.
I'll work it out! In about 15 more pickaxes and 30 more shovels. 😵🤣

Either way. This is New Fan'driel! My own personal Minecraft world that I plan to build onto and expand as time goes on. 😊 I will share progress as I continue onwards transforming this place into a proper little virtual world.
Until next time! ⚔️✨
